Sachse was eager to get back to the top of the district after finishing second last season.
With the returning talent and an offseason of training, the girls are confident heading into the season. Two games into district play, the Lady Mustangs might already have a stranglehold on District 9-6A.
Sachse (2-0, 9-6) dominated Rowlett from the jump, winning the game 58-19. The Lady Mustangs showed how their guard-heavy offense could provide a spark early in the game. Criselle Mendoza connected from 3-point range on the game’s first basket and the Lady Mustangs cruised to victory. Mendoza scored 13 points in the win.
Head coach Donna McCullough praised her team’s efforts in the performance on the offensive end.
