Sachse’s cross country teams continue to make strides, literally and figuratively, during the 2015 season.
This past weekend, the Lady Mustangs galloped to fifth in the girls’ competition during the Dustin Rodriguez Run at Wylie High School, while the boys were seventh in their portion of the race.
Sachse’s girls (144 points) finished behind Plano West (34), Denton Guyer (69), Rockwall (75) and Frisco Heritage (91).
Freshman Avery Crouse led the charge with a 12th-place finish (21:08.90), followed by Jordan Lande (22nd at 21:35.70), Hannah Hooks (36th at 22:19.20), Agang Tac (41st at 22:49.50) and Isabella Johnson (46th at 23:00.70). Crouse and Hooks, also a freshman, are recent additions to the Lady Mustangs, said head coach Kacey Laughery.
