Sachse High School Principal Ray Merrill was recognized by The Texas Association of Secondary School Principals as Principal of the Year.

The Texas Association of Secondary School Principals recently recognized outstanding administrators from the state’s 20 regional education service centers. Sachse High School Principal Ray Merrill was nominated and named Principal of the Year for exemplary performance and outstanding leadership.

In just four years, Merrill has helped implement innovative and technologically advanced initiatives.

“We now offer more innovative technology courses, some with dual credit, have increased the rigor in all of our technology courses, and much of our professional development is preparing our staff for the one to one student devices that are coming with our bond,” he said. “We have some great teacher leadership in our technology department.”
