Mark Behrens said last Friday’s game with North Garland would be a character test for his Mustangs following a tough loss to Garland.

Well, they passed to the tune of 51-0 before a homecoming crowd at Williams Stadium.

The victory against the overmatched Raiders improved Sachse’s 11-6A record to 2-1 and 5-1 overall. The entire district is off this week, and will resume action Oct. 15-16, with the Mustangs traveling to district leader Rockwall on that Friday, Oct. 16.

That begins a stretch of four district games that will conclude the regular season. A year ago, Sachse failed to make the postseason, but did qualify in the previous three seasons.
