ROWLETT — The Lady Mustangs left themselves in an excellent position Friday night to claim the outright 11-6A title.

They did that by sweeping arch-rival and district competitor Rowlett 25-19, 26-24, 25-19 at the Lady Eagles’ court; the win, combined with a 25-9, 25-13, 25-14 victory over Lakeview Centennial on Oct. 6, improved Sachse’s district record to 9-0 with five matches left to play.

The toughest of those will occur Friday at Rockwall, which the Lady Mustangs beat earlier in the season. Another victory means the Lady Mustangs will have swept both Rowlett and Rockwall, their closest challengers for a 11-6A title, and will provide a clear path to a championship.
