GARLAND — Things didn’t start out well Friday night for Sachse, as the Mustangs had trouble operating in the excessive rain.
However, as the evening cleared up, the blue and white picked up the pace and by evening’s end they had swamped Lakeview Centennial 55-25 at Homer B. Johnson Stadium. That victory, combined with Rockwall’s 56-35 win Saturday over Tyler Lee, clinched a playoff spot for Sachse (7-2 overall and 4-2 in District 11-6A). The Mustangs failed to make the postseason a year ago after advancing the previous three seasons.
They will open bi-district play the weekend of Nov. 12-14 against a 12-6A (Killeen area) after closing out the regular season this Friday versus Rowlett at HBJ. If Sachse wins this Friday, they will host Belton 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 at Williams Stadium.
Should the Mustangs lose, then they will travel that day to Killeen.
