Belton corrals Lady Mustangs 41-38 in bi-district round

What had been an excellent season for Sachse’s Lady Mustangs ended Monday evening with a 41-38 overtime loss to Belton.
The defeat in the Region II, Class 6A bi-district game at Hillsborough concluded a four-month campaign during which the Lady Mustangs had developed into a top team in the North Texas area; that included a 14-0 mark and first place in District 11-6A.
It was the first time in school history the Lady Mustangs finished unbeaten in district competition. The final 11-6A victory was a 53-42 triumph on Feb. 9 over Rowlett.
