Wylie ISD Trustees went back to ‘school’ last week as part of their continuing education. They met with a consultant to establish new goals for the board and the district.
Ron Morrison, CEO and presenter with Docentus met with the group to help them facilitate this process to develop goals for next year and to help them take a deeper look at why they are on the board.
“I have been meeting with this board on an annual basis since six months following Superintendent David Vinson’s employment with the district,” Morrison said. “My intention is to help them build upon common goals that can be found throughout the group.”
Morrison said to begin the session one of his teaching methods includes having board members answer various questions he has on index cards, which they then share as a group. He said this method helps keep the ideas more pure without the influence of what other people said.
“This is one of the most special times for me as superintendent as I get to see the board reflect on the progress of their goals and exciting things to consider for our next steps toward an even brighter future,” Vinson said.
