Bad weather or not, the show had to go on, and it did at Williams Stadium.
It was there, from April 12-14, that track and field participants out of Districts 12-5A and 11-6A competed in their respective meets.
The latter included Sachse’s runners, throwers and jumpers, and many of them earned top-four finishes that earned them a spot at the area meet against schools from 12-6A. That is scheduled to take place Friday in Copperas Cove, and the top-four finishers there will advance to the April 29-30 regional meet in Waco.
Once there, a competitor must earn a top-two ranking in any particular event, or best the best third-place finisher out of all four regions, in order to make the May 13-14 state meet in Austin.
