Artistic abilities blossom with art program

Baneen Alaydi’s mom made a simple suggestion to her a couple of months ago, and the Sewell Elementary fifth-grader followed it.

The result was a greeting card that she created and entered in the Garland ISD-wide Fifth Grade Greeting Card Contest. A little while later, Alaydi was informed she was one of three GISD fifth-graders whose cards were selected as the best of the bunch. The other two were Daugherty Elementary’s Adileny Vasquez and Esteban Zavala of the Beaver Technology Center of Math and Science.
