Last month Wylie ISD announced several leadership changes aimed at improving efficiency and supporting the district’s long-term goals.

The restructuring allows the district to absorb an existing central office position while aligning major departments under experienced leaders. All other members of the district’s leadership team will remain in their current roles.

“Each of these leaders brings valuable experience and a deep understanding of Wylie ISD,” Superintendent Kim Spicer said. “I have complete confidence in this team and their commitment to doing what’s best for our students and staff every single day.”

With Spicer now officially serving as Superintendent of Schools, Amanda Lannan will move into the role of Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. She will oversee curriculum and instruction, career and technical education, counseling, fine arts, professional development, assessment and accountability, special education and special services. Spicer will continue to directly oversee athletics, community relations and technology.

Lannan has spent her entire career in Wylie ISD, beginning in 2007 at Wylie East High School as a world geography and economics teacher. She later worked as a social studies learning specialist, assistant principal and associate principal at Wylie High School, Director of Student Services, and principal of Cooper Junior High. She became Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in 2024. Lannan holds degrees from Texas State University and Texas A&M-Commerce, along with a superintendent’s certification. She and her family live in Wylie.

Jessica Branch, who has served as Chief of Staff since 2022, will now take over as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. Branch joined Wylie ISD in 2013 and has served as assistant principal at Dodd Elementary, Coordinator for Federal Programs, and Director of Policy, Governance and Grants. She previously worked in Garland ISD, supporting curriculum development and technology integration. Branch earned degrees from the University of Texas at Dallas, Lamar University and Dallas Baptist University, as well as a superintendent’s certification. She and her family reside in St. Paul.

Amanda Martin, currently Director of Counseling and The Wylie Way, will become Chief of Staff. Martin has served as counseling director since 2015 and has more than two decades of experience in education, including roles as a school counselor in Garland ISD, a learning specialist for secondary social studies and a social studies teacher at Wylie High School. She holds degrees from Hardin-Simmons University and Amberton University and lives in Wylie with her family.

Amy Andrews will step into the role of Director of Counseling and The Wylie Way. Andrews most recently worked as Counseling Coordinator and previously served as Lead Counselor at Wylie East High School. She began her career teaching in Lubbock ISD and later taught at Smith Elementary. She holds degrees from Texas Tech University and Amberton University.

As part of the restructuring, Relational Skills Learning Specialist Deidra Winn will transition into the role of Counseling Coordinator and the relational skills position will be eliminated.
